Business Forecasts 2018 Conference to be Held
The annual Business Forecasts Conference organised by the Dienas Business newspaper will be held on 8 November this year.

Traditionally, the conference seeks new ideas for Latvia's future by consulting businesses, government representatives and experts in different fields. During the Business Forecasts 2018 Conference, we will put specific questions to sectoral ministers and discuss real projects of economic interest. This year, special attention will be paid to future technologies, infrastructure, and the attraction of financial and human resources.
Elmārs Prikšāns, conference partner and Head of OP Corporate Bank plc Latvian Branch, said: "Positive trends are observed in the world economy. Growth rates are encouraging, and this is also felt in the Latvian economy. This also gives a reason for Latvian businesses to look to the future more positively than to date. The current low interest rates and availability of funds form a very good breeding ground for the faster development of smartly managed companies. New challenges, however, are created by the march of globalisation, increasing competition, at an international level in particular. The time has come for a wider discussion regarding how prepared Latvian businesses and legislators are for the new challenges and how these trends may affect businesses and national economy."
The aim of the conference is to create an interactive platform for businesses, experts and representatives of state institutions to discuss the short-term prospects of the Latvian economy and forecast long-term developments which might affect the operation of Latvian businesses.
